Who Are We?

The Trans Relocation Project is a Portland-based, queer-run collective, made up of like-minded activists from a variety of backgrounds, united by a common, yet impossibly important, goal: doing what we can to help trans people (and their families) in relocating to Oregon, from states that are enacting anti-trans legislation.

Combined, we have a wealth of resources and connections within the Portland Metro area, who are qualified to assist in the home-buying process, in receiving medical and mental healthcare, and in job placement.

Why are we doing this?

The short answer is: Because somebody has to.
The long answer, though, is that, in the United States, 800 Pieces of legislation are being used to erase trans people and their families from public life and their access to healthcare.

This is accomplished by way of restricting access to gender-affirming care and public bathrooms, as well as so-called “drag bans” restricting freedom of gender expression.

Trans Legislation Tracker, which provides comprehensive information on anti-trans extremism throughout the country.
